Laptop bag

My current consumerist obsession is finding a semi-professional (I am using that adjective very loosely) laptop bag. My current laptop bag is an MEC backpack, which I love, but is not professional looking at all. Some of the bags I’m considering aren’t commonly considered professional-looking (especially the Crumpler and Timbuk2) but I think if I get the all-black model, it’ll be professional-looking enough for me. I considered some more conventional brands like Targus and Samsonite, but I realized they’re too plain for me.

Here are my current options (scores from 1-5, 5 being the highest):

Tom Bihn Empire Builder (Black) - $150
Coolness: 3, Price: 2

Crumpler Considerable Embarrassment (Black) - $85
Coolness:4, Price: 4

Timbuk2 Laptop Messenger (Medium, Black) - $110
Coolness: 1, Price: 3

Jack Spade Nylon Canvas Tech Field Bag (Black) - $185
Coolness: 5, Price: 1

Brenthaven Duo 15 - $150 on Brenthaven.com, ~$80 from other sites
Coolness: 2, Price: 4

Manhattan Portage Computer Bag - $62
Coolness: 4, Price: 4

I’m leaning towards the Crumpler right now because it has the best combination of cool factor and price. Why do I rank the coolness of Timbuk2 so low? Because everyone and their mom has a Timbuk2 bag. The Jack Spade bag is not really an option because it is so expensive and is the least functional of the four, but if money were no object and I could buy two bags, I would get the Jack Spade as a 2nd bag. The Tom Bihn is probably the most functional but it’s sorta on the pricey side (especially considering you still have to purchase a laptop sleeve separately). The Brenthaven is a bit boring. The Manhattan Portage is cool but might be too basic (not enough special compartments).

I am open to suggestions.
